Smt. Soni took an active part in the business and industry ventures of her family, and displayed her leadership, insight, and management skills in making all of them successful and prosperous.

Smt. Shashi Soni, is a successful entrepreneur who has founded several successful companies in entertainment, industrial gases, IT manufacturing, and IT services.

She has held and managed several illustrious positions throughout her career. Smt. Soni has been the only lady Member in the Managing Committee of the All India Industrial Gases Manufacturers Association for 7 years, and played the role of a crucial trouble-shooter and interlocutor during a time of transition in the Industry.

Under the banner of Deep Jan Seva Samiti, which she founded, Smt. Soni organized several blood donation and eye care camps, and encouraged individuals from slum areas to take up skilled employment. The Samiti trained ladies from the lower strata of society in tailoring and enabled them to become skilled bread winners for their families.

In recognition of her efforts, she has been bestowed with the honour of receiving the Mahila Gaurav Puraskar in 1990 by the Institute of Economic Studies.

The latest venture that Smt. Soni has embarked upon is the Smart Shiksha digital classroom, which has the potential to bring digitally enabled education to every aspiring student in every nook and corner of the country.

 

 
SANJAY SONI

 

Shri. Sanjay Soni, an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and the youngest son of Smt. Shashi Soni, is presently the Managing Director of izmo Ltd., a Rs. 450 million IT company with offices and operations in 8 nations around the globe. The company was taken public in 1999 and its stock is currently traded on both the BSE and NSE.

As a young student, Shri. Sanjay Soni was captivated by the possibilities of IT and mastered several computing languages. In order to popularize the use of personal computers among peers, he started a computer club in his college and later authored a popular book on programming which was included in the CBSE syllabus.

He received a letter of commendation for the book from Shri. Rajiv Gandhi, Prime Minister, in the 1980s when he was only 21 years old.

After his graduation, he joined the family business, bringing his expertise in electronics and technology to explore new and emerging business areas. The family business then entered the field of electronics and IT, both software and hard­ware under the leadership of Shri. Soni and his brothers.

He is experienced in cross-border acquisitions and has set up subsidiaries of his company abroad.
